Traditional Medicines Industry: Conference & Expo of Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khing Win attended the opening ceremony of the Traditional Medicine Conference and Expo of Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Thursday in Guwahati of India.

In his opening address, the Union Minister said that the traditional Myanmar medicine is the one that have strong foundation for many eras till now; Myanmar could implement providing health care services by using traditional medicine like other countries during the COVID-19 outbreak; traditional medicine doctors are being produced annually to develop traditional medicine by opening the University of Traditional Medicine (Mandalay).

He also expressed his belief in cooperation among the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, observers and partner countries to improve all round traditional medicine sector.

And the Union Minister and guests viewed around the booths of traditional medicines. They also attended a seminar for the development of Traditional Medicine sector and made discussions.

Delegates, traditional medicine experts, experts from Drug Administration and entrepreneurs from 8 member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, 3 observer countries and 13 partnership countries attended the conference and Expo.
