Collective Cleaning Activities : NPT Council Chairman encourages the participants

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than, accompanied by officials, inspected and encouraged departmental staff carrying out cleaning activities at the Dhatucaya Dhatpaungsu  Pagoda Compound in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on Saturday morning.

The activities included pruning trees, cutting and clearing grass and bushes, and systematically collecting and disposing of rubbish using garbage trucks. He also observed the sale of cooking oil, meat, fish, eggs and vegetables to departmental staff and local residents at designated reference prices.

Afterwards, he paid homage to the Maha Myat Muni Buddha Image within the pagoda compound by offering gold robes and donated cash to the pagoda board of trustees.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and officials then inspected grass and bush clearance, grass cutting and cleaning activities being carried out along both sides of the road near the Sugar Mill Junction in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw.

He instructed the officials concerned to give priority to maintaining cleanliness, tidiness, pleasant surroundings, beauty and greenery throughout Nay Pyi Taw. It is also reported that similar cleaning and beautification activities are being carried out every Saturday in the remaining townships across the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
