Rural Development : Smart village implementation in Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of Pyithu Hluttaw Committee on Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development Dr. Aung Gyi and committee members inspected rural development projects and small-scale livestock farming at Thaw Hmaw Kone Model Village in Lewe Township on Saturday.

At the village multi-purpose hall, they met with residents and heard reports on the implementation of the Thaw Hmaw Kone Model Village project and the Smart Village initiative, which is being implemented in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and nationwide under the supervision of the relevant department.

The concerned officials and residents later raised questions and discussed project implementation. The committee chairman and members also donated books and journals to the village library. They then inspected infrastructure and facilities developed under the Smart Village initiative, including inter-village roads, bridges, the village water supply system, a library and an ICT centre.

They also visited a dairy farm supported by the Rural Economic Development Fund and a grocery shop established with loans under the Emerald Green Project.
