Terry Hall, the laconic frontman of English ska group The Specials, has died aged 63. Hall joined the Specials in 1977, who released their debut single, "Gangsters" in 1979.

They had a No. 1 single in the U.K with 1981's "Ghost Town" which spent 10 weeks in the Top 40. After the Specials split, Hall formed Fun Boy Three with his Specials bandmates Lynval Golding and Neville Staple. The trio worked with Banarama on chart hits "It Ain’t What You Do (It’s the Way That You Do It)" and "Really Saying Something."
