Japan emperor and empress to attend queen funeral

Japan's emperor and empress are to attend the state funeral of Britain's Queen Elizabeth the Second.Chief Cabinet Secretary HirokazuMatsuno confirmed Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako would leave for London on 17 September.It will be the emperor's first overseas visit since his enthronement.Matsuno said no other government officials, including Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, were expected to join the funeral on 19 September.
