The annual Vegetarian Festival in Phuket and Phitsanulok drew to a close with colourful processions, religious ceremonies and spectacular firecracker displays as thousands of devotees and tourists gathered to witness rituals marking the return of deities to heaven.

In Phuket, Chinese shrines held farewell ceremonies before taking to the streets in processions that passed the Clock Tower Roundabout and continued towards Saphan Hin Cape. The streets echoed with the sound of firecrackers as crowds lined the routes to witness the processions and pay their respects to the deities.

The celebrations culminated in farewell rituals, while participating shrines are scheduled to lower their ceremonial Go Teng poles on October 19, officially bringing the annual festival to an end.
