Shanghai Police Add Bike Patrols on Busy Commercial Street

The police used to ride on motorcycles or police cars to patrol in Shanghai. But now there’s another special patrol team riding on bicycles to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists on Nanjing Road starting from Wednesday.

These police bikes were used to patrol along the Shanghai Marathon, to ensure the safety and joy of citizens and tourists. In order to thoroughly implement the deployment requirements of the "Hundred Days Action" for cracking down on public security in the summer and strengthen the construction of the street patrol and prevention and control system, the Huangpu Police of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street Management Squadron was formally established. The combination of four-wheeled electric cars, police bicycles and foot patrols can prevent and quickly handle various emergencies and incidents.
