SKorea, US continue annual military exercises

The United States and South Korea continued their biggest combined military training in years as part of the defence against the growing North Korean nuclear threat.

South Korean police, fire officials and military forces took part in an anti-terror drill at a major shopping mall in northwest of Seoul as part of the Ulchi Freedom Shield Exercise.

In the training exercise, fire crews, police and military bomb squad practiced evacuating and rescuing mall visitors, clearing explosive substances and restoring the electricity.

Also on Tuesday, South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup visited the Command Post Tango (CP Tango), a wartime command bunker of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command to meet troops participating in a joint military training.
