China’s foreign trade in first six months increases

China's foreign trade grew by 9.4% in the first half of 2022 compared to last year.The General Administration of Customs released the import and export data for the first six months of 2022.

During a briefing in Beijing, the administration's spokesperson said that over the period, total foreign trade was 19.8 trillion yuan a year-on-year rise of 9.4% and exports had risen by 13.2% while imports increased by 4.8%. He added foreign trade saw a rapid increase after companies in the Yangtze Delta, the surrounding region of Shanghai and other industrial cities, resumed production. He also said China's trade faced increasing uncertainties entering the second half of the year due to COVID-19 and the international situation.
