

Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida pledged on Monday to continue working on the amendment to the constitution of Japan - the long-cherished goal that the assassinated former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe couldn't achieve.
The remark was made at a news conference a day after Japan's governing party and its coalition partner scored a major victory in a parliamentary election. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday and offered his condolences following the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.Blinken is the most senior U.S. official to visit Japan in the aftermath of Abe's death.
