COVID-19 Vaccination: Prevention Programme continues in regions and states

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 3rd and 4th of June, residents in 12 townships of northern Shan State, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 9 townships of Rakhine and Chin states, 7 districts of Mandalay Region and 2 townships of Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, students in 7 townships of northern Shan State and 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region received the COVID-19 vaccines. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
