






Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the ceremony to present honorary certificates, certificates of honour and cash awards to victorious athletes and coaches in the 31st SEA Games held in Viet Nam, at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw Saturday afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that in the past, the talents of Tatmadaw member athletes contributed to Myanmar’s football team’s brilliant victories.
Tatmadaw member athletes brought honour to the State by securing many medals in track and field, boxing, weightlifting and judo apart from football.
Deserved honour was given to Tatmadaw member athletes pouring out efforts in competitions for the State and the Tatmadaw.
Arrangements are being made to hold the sports competitions in the entire nation and efforts are made to recover the education tasks which faced loss in the outbreak of COVID-19.
In the third quarter of this year, the Tatmadaw sports competition and inter-state/region sports competitions will be held as a gesture of hailing Diamond Jubilee Independence Day.
The Senior General presented certificates of honour and cash awards to gold medallists. The wife of the Senior General presented certificates of honour and cash awards to gold medallist and silver medallist women athletes.
The Vice-Senior General presented two silver medalists, bronze medalists. The wife of the Vice-Senior General presented honorary certificates and cash awards to bronze medallists.
The Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) presented certificates of honour and cash awards to bronze medalists. Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein presented certificates of honour and cash awards to the coaches for giving training to gold medallists bronze medalists respectively.
On behalf of medallists and coaches, an athlete spoke words of thanks, saying that they especially took pride in being honoured by the State and promoted one step ranks by the Tatmadaw and awarding honorary certificates of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, certificates of honour and cash awards.
They pledged to secure a larger number of medals in the coming international sports competitions while representing the State. Then, the victorious athletes and coaches were served a tea party.
