The Central Committee on Copyright held its meeting 1/2022 on Friday at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the meeting, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win said that the Department of Copyright under the Ministry of Commerce will mainly manage the copyright matters.
He also stressed the importance of copyright for the economic development of the country. In the Age of Globalization, copyright is important for departments, entrepreneurs and the private sector. Myanmar has to follow the agreement with the World Trade Organization.
Copyright agency will be formed. The Vice Senior General called for cooperation on copyright matters. Attendees discussed a series of matters including establishment of a copyright system and implementation of the decisions made in the first meeting of the Central Committee.
