


According to the trade temporary list until 20th May for 2022-2023 fiscal year, the export value was 1,999 billion US dollars and the import value was 2,064 million US dollars. So, the trade volume exceeded to over 4,000 million US dollars, according to the Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.
Thaung Naing, Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Commerce said “Maritime trade has increased 774 million USD but the border trade has decreased about 328 million USD. This year, the main exports are toddy, rubber, tissue banana and garments and textiles manufactured with CMP system. However, exports of mangoes, watermelons, cucumbers, fishery products, maize and beans and pulses have been decreased than the previous years. In the import sector, electronic items, diesel, fertilizers, plastic raw materials, medicines and various papers are mainly imported. On the other hand, the imports of cement, motor vehicles and spare parts, telephones, machinery, steel, construction materials and beverages were lower than the last year.”
At the beginning of the 2022-23 financial year, the trade situation was better than the last year and the exports and imports are increased to 328 million USD and 118 million USD than previous year.
