Illegal Trade: Illegal consumer goods and timber seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 29th and 30th of May, undocumented consumer goods and foodstuffs, illegal consumer goods and water heaters, illegal teak, hardwood and timber were seized at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint, in Hlegu Township and in Toungoo and Thayawady districts. In total, illegal consumer goods and timber worth over 62 million Kyats were seized on the 29th and 30th of May.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
