Efforts for Rakhine State: Meeting with ethnic literature and culture groups

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi met with representatives of Mro, Thet, Khami, Dainet and Maramagyi ethnic literature and culture groups in Sittwe of Rakhine State.

In the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the Government’s efforts for the interest of all national races in the country, importance of national unity and the need for the ethnic groups to get National Registration Card [NRC].

The representatives and the Union Minister discussed matters including issuance of National Registration cards, health and transportation sectors as well as drinking water and electricity access.

The Union Minister also met with staff of his ministry; expressed words of thanks for the successful implementation of the Pan Khin Project for issuance of National Registration cards, explained preparations for the 2024 census and implementation of the e-ID system.

He also urged the staff to cooperate with relevant departments.
