Tree Planting Ceremony: Marking The Int’l Day For Biological Diversity2022

Marking the International Day for Biological Diversity 2022, Myanmar celebrated with tree planting ceremonies in Sintgaing and Kyaukpadaung townships, Mandalay region. It aims to raise awareness on natural environment conservation and biodiversity.

Likewise, tree planting ceremony was held in Kyaukse University in Sintgaing township, Mandalay region.

Min Min Naing, Assistant  Director, Sintgaing Township Forest Department said “As the Forest department of Kyaukse District, we will plant over 250,000 seedlings in this rainy season. At the tree planting ceremony, Chairmen of Kyaukse District and Township Administration Councils and members and township level officials planted 182 saplings such as NguShweWah and Star-flower trees.”

Similarly, the Forest Department of Kyaukse township was held tree planting ceremony at home for the aged near Yin Htwat village.

Win Zaw, Head, Kyaukpadaung Township Forest Department said “To conserve the natural environment, we planted 270 saplings such as teak, Yinmar, neem, Mezali, rain tree and tamarinds at Kyaukpadaung township home for the aged. Our Department is planting 20,000 seedlings and we’d like to invite the relative department to collect the seedlings for cultivating during the rainy season.

Kyaukpadaung Township Administrative Council, the township Forest Department, Maternal and Child Welfare Association and department officials planted a total of 270 seedlings at home for the aged.”
