




Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko attended mid-year coordination meeting of Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board at the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) in Dagon Myothit (South) Township on Monday.
On the occasion, Chairman of Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Panyeinda gave Ovada Gahta.
Union Minister supplicated matters that arrangements are being made for preserving and hand over of calculating methods of Myanma calendar and compiling and writing the prophecies of Maha Thangyan letter that have existed since many years ago for the sake of the Sasana, the nation and the people.
The working group has been formed to compile curriculum, syllabuses and textbooks to open Basic Calendar Postgraduate Diploma course. The aims of the course is to emerge calendar experts, to continue to learn related subjects through basic calendar skills, to contact with the International Astronomy Organizations and to get basic principles for a developed and modern calendar.
Later, the Director General of the Fine Arts Department reported on drafting teaching lessons for opening calendar diploma course. The meeting also discussed matters on opening Myanmar Calendar Postgraduate Diploma course at the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) and selecting of the topic for Myanma Calendar research paper to be read out at the 2/2022 research paper reading session that will be held by the Department of Fine Arts for the 2nd time.
