India launches Earth observation satellite

India's space agency launched an Earth observation satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota early on Monday. Two co-passenger satellites were also sent into space. Footage from the Indian Space Research Organization showed the rocket's ignition and following flight, before it disappeared into the upper atmosphere prompting cheers from the technicians.
