Morning brings first new snowfall of Olympics at Zhangjiakou zone

Zhangjiakou mountain zone at the Beijing Winter Olympics was embraced with fresh snowfall on Saturday morning. Snow was forecast this weekend for all three areas within the Olympic "closed loop", with a possible three to six inches of accumulation predicted through Sunday.

Zhangjiakou hosts cross-country ski, snowboarding, freestyle and ski jumping while alpine and sliding events take place at the Yanqing mountain zone. It is the first precipitation since ski racing competition began last week.
