
The Ministry of Health reported 1,573 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 18,861 lab specimens within 24 hours. 34 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,281 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 482,803 with 18,222 deaths and 435,361 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals. COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease.
Up to 12th October, 2021, a total of 10,591,609 people have been vaccinated. Of them, 4,201,630 people have been vaccinated two times and 6,389,979 people once. Therefore, a total of 14,793, 239 doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated.
The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 44.19 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Islamic Republic of Iran, Argentina and Colombia according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:58 p.m. Central European Summer Time on October 13th, 2021, there have been over 238.52 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 4.86 million deaths, reported to WHO.
