



The CMP (Cutting, Making, Packaging) Supervisory Committee held its 2nd coordination meeting on Monday. In his address, Union Minister U Myint Kyaing highlighted the important role of CMP enterprises for jobs creation and foreign currency income. He also stressed the need to follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines at the enterprises and appreciated the cooperation among the associations.
The Union Minister urged the attendees to create jobs opportunity for those who lost jobs due to the COVID-19 outbreak, to use the experience of those who returned from abroad and to turn out skilled workers. He also called for efforts to supervise the list making, import and export issues, and rules and regulations following at the CMP enterprises.
The Union Minister highlighted the number of workers who were vaccinated against the COVID-19 – it’s well known that over 500,000 workers received the 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccines and over 130,000 received the full doses of vaccines in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyawaddy regions. This meeting continued with sector-wise discussions and the Union Minister and Deputy Minister coordinated the discussions.
