COVID-19 Update: 1,542 New Cases Reported at 8 p.m. on September 29

The Ministry of Health reported 1,542 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 18,702 lab specimens within 24 hours.51 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,551 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 462,608 with 17,682 deaths and 416,927 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 28th September, 2021, a total of 7,799,489 people have been vaccinated. Of them, 3,790,752 people have been vaccinated two times and 4,008,737 people once.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 42.84 million confirmed cases followed by India, Brazil, The United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Islamic Republic of Iran, Argentina and Colombia according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:31 p.m.

Central European Summer Time on September 29, 2021, there have been over 232.63 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 4.76 million deaths, reported to WHO.

The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
