Drugs seized: 1,000 kilos of ICE and 47 kilos of Ketamine seized

The acting on a tip-off, the combined forces including the members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force discharging duties at Mayan Gyaung combined checkpoint on the Yangon-Mawlamyaing Road in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State, stopped and inspected Alphard vehicle driven by Myint Ko accompanied by Daw Mi Mi Aye (a) Mi Mi Aye Kyaw from Sittaung Bridge to Kyaikhto and white color Tipper 6-wheelers driven by Soe Thura accompanied by Min Htin and Saw Myint at 11 a.m. on September 10.

The inspection team seized 1000 kilos of ICE (methamphetamine) worth 41.175 billion Kyats at current price and 47 kilos of Ketamine in Tipper vehicle and 51.728 million Kyats in Alphard vehicle. An accomplice Kyaw Zaw Win (a) Thar Thar who involved in the drug trafficking was arrested in Myanmar Plaza, Bahan Township, Yangon Region at 2:30 p.m. on 14th September.

According to investigation, the drugs were carried from Kaythi Township of Shan State to Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region and those will be transported next to Malaysia by sea. The six suspects are being charged under the Law and the investigation is underway to capture the rest of the suspects.
