While the world waits patiently for health authorities to roll out vaccines to the public, a few are getting to jump the queue. Like the lion cub triplets at Royal Burgers' Zoo in the Netherlands, who very unwillingly received their cat flu jabs on Thursday. Cat flu is a general term for a highly infectious upper respiratory disease that affects cats and kittens.

The young females, born on 26 November 2020, received their second vaccinations before the watchful eye of their anxious mother. The cubs are due to remain at Royal Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem for the next couple of years. The facility is world famous for its success in breeding lions.
