Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that a final agreement with Oman on a temporary shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz is near. However, the limited corridor doesn’t mean the wider international waterway is fully reopened, he said.

Tehran insists that a complete reopening requires broader conditions, including U.S. compensation and sanctions relief. Iranian reports indicate the proposed temporary corridor is planned to last roughly two to four months if enacted.
