Remote lake in eastern Türkiye awaits discovery by visitors

Asboga Lake in eastern Türkiye is drawing attention as a remote natural attraction at an altitude of around 2,000 meters.Located about 11 kilometers from Sarıkamış, the 237,000-square-meter lake is home to migratory birds, including mallards and herons.

Surrounded by vegetation, it freezes during winter but remains fed by seasonal precipitation and springs.Local residents and officials are calling for the lake to be promoted as a tourist destination and considered for protected status.
