Peace Process: Commander-In-Chief’s Office Issues An Appeal

The Commander-in-Chief’s Office issued an appeal urging to effectively conduct peace process during its ceasefire period, Monday. It stated that in building a modern and democratic nation, any organization and person should demand their desires with a systematic democratic way. Tatmadaw believes that solving the problems of internal armed conflicts is making negotiation. 

That’s why, Tatmadaw announced its unilateral ceasefire for six-month on 21st December 2018 and 30th April 2019 with the aim for all stakeholders to carry out peace process with a high level of trust.

According to the needs, Tatmadaw announced two month extension of ceasefire till 31st of August for the third time on 30th June 2019.

The statement pushed for all ethnic armed organizations to march forwards peace process through negotiations by signing Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement instead of making armed process.

In conclusion, it also urged all stakeholders and organizations involving in the peace process to apply effectively 2-month extension of ceasefire period than before for marching to a systematic democratic way and development of socio-economic life of people.
