Xi meets leaders on sidelines of SCO summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Uzbek counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and other leaders on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Uzbekistan.

Mirziyoyev awarded Xi with the Order of Friendship medal in recognition of his special contribution to developing friendly relations with Uzbekistan.

Xi also met with Belarusian President and Azerbaijani President on Thursday and was expected to meet Iranian President on Friday.

The leaders met on the sidelines of the eight-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organization that includes India, Pakistan and four ex-Soviet nations in Central Asia.
