





The News and Information Working Committee under the National Disaster Management Committee held a meeting at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw on April 8.

Currently, the media sector is working to eliminate fake news and misinformation, and to disseminate information on natural disaster awareness programs, damage, search and rescue, rehabilitation, and international messages in a timely manner.
It is important for the government and the public to receive accurate information. He said that the committee members should constantly monitor the statements related to natural disasters and cooperate in a timely manner to take appropriate action.
Then, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint said that it is necessary to compile records of video files, news and photos related to the provision of international aid, damage, search and rescue, and recovery processes related to natural disasters, and that the committee should cooperate and help each other according to their respective responsibilities to ensure that there are no weaknesses.
After that, the Secretary, Joint Secretary and committee members explained the activities of the National Disaster Management Committee, broadcasting natural disaster awareness programs, issuing weather information, the communication sector, timely release of injured, damaged, missing and death records, international cooperation in rescue and relief efforts, and providing adequate water supply.
After the meeting, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary and departmental officials came to the Ministry's office to hand over the relief supplies donated to the staff and families of the Ministry of Information affected by the earthquake to the personnels from various departments.
