72nd anniversary Martyrs' Day ceremony will be held in Yangon on 19th July.

The President Office urged to fly the national flag at half-mast across the country. Instruction was also made to play siren by Myanma Radio and Television at 10:37 am to observe the time of the assassination of the martyrs, and also urged the drivers to stop driving and honk their horns at that time.

On 19 July 1947, several of Myanmar's independence leaders, led by General Aung San, were assassinated by a group of armed men in uniform while they were holding a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat Building in downtown Yangon.
