According to the Myanmar Police Force, a combined team including members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force seized approximately 14.9862 million stimulant tablets (estimated value 37.4655 billion kyats) destined for Rakhine State during a raid near Kanyay  Village in Minbu Township at around 5 PM on December 24.

The tablets were found in a 6-wheel Canter truck driven by Aung Zin Win (aka) Pho Khwa, accompanied by Maung Maung Thant. Further investigations revealed that the stimulant tablets were transported from Sagaing to Mandalay and stored hidden in a residence.

On December 25 at around 7:30 AM, two individuals, Nay Myo Aung and his wife Nyo Nyo Thet, were arrested at the Magway Hotel on Natmauk Road in Magway Township, along with a Super Custom vehicle. They were responsible for transporting the drugs from Mandalay to Mintone Township.

Additionally, a Hyundai Starex vehicle used for drug transportation was seized from their home in Pyigyiyanlon  Ward, Aungmyaythazan  Township. The person who ordered the transportation of the seized stimulant tablets is Min Min (at large) from S Lay  Village, Sagaing Township.

It was found that the drugs were being transported and sold from Sagaing Township to Mintone Township and then onward to Rakhine State. The individuals have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and efforts are ongoing to uncover further connections in the chain of crimes.

Additionally, legal actions under the Anti-Money Laundering Law are being taken to seize their assets and proceeds from drug trafficking as public funds, it’s reported.
