On April 15, which marks the Akyat Day of the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan, the walking Thingyan areas and pavilions in Mandalay are densely crowded with Thingyan-loving revelers.

Starting from the morning at the Mandalay City Maha Thingyan Pavilion, a large crowd of festival-goers watched and enthusiastically supported the singing of Thingyan songs by famous artists and the beautiful Yein performances by ministry and amateur dance troupes.

The public joyfully celebrated Akyat Day by singing and dancing along. Furthermore, at the traditional ethnic water-playing pavilions, Thingyan lovers happily played with water while watching and encouraging the traditional cultural dance performances of ethnic men and women.

They also gladly enjoyed the local delicacies served as Satuditha (free charity food). Along the Mandalay Moat, families and groups peacefully and joyfully played with water at various Thingyan pavilions that were uniquely and innovatively constructed in accordance with Myanmar's traditional cultural heritage.

The Mingalar Mandalay Walking Thingyan was especially packed with people peacefully and joyfully celebrating across its designated zones, included, Floating Street Zone, Star Light Street Zone, Flower Street Zone and Water Street Zone.

Satuditha feasts were generously donated and served to locals and visitors from various regions participating in the Mingalar Mandalay Walking Thingyan, allowing them to rest and refresh themselves while enjoying the water festival.

Similarly, the Zegyo Thu water-playing pavilion on the west side of the Mandalay Moat was bustling with participants, drawn by lively and energetic entertainment programs tailored to the audience's tastes.

Likewise, at smaller pavilions within various townships and wards, youths and children peacefully and joyfully participated in the Thingyan Akyat Day celebrations by playing with water and serving Satuditha. In the evening, the Mandalay City Maha Thingyan Pavilion continued to entertain the Thingyan-loving public with Yein dances and musical performances, it’s reported.
