

Powerful storm Noru blew off roofs, billboards and uprooted trees as it hit central Vietnam early Wednesday, packing winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour.The storm also caused a widespread blackout, affecting over one million households in Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, VTV reported.
There have not been immediate reports about casualties after the storm swept through the country, but authorities said it would bring more rain and could still pose further danger.According to state media, the typhoon has been downgraded to a tropical depression after making landfall.
