






The graduation ceremony and variety performance show of State High School of Arts (Yangon) was held at National Theatre in Yangon in the morning on Sunday with the attendance of the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, members of Yangon Region Government and officials.
The Union Minister encouraged the students to continue learning their respective subjects and also to do well in their high school education. He urged them to preserve Myanmar fine arts and traditions and to become the excellent artists to promote the prestige of the school and the ministry.
14 students from Fine Arts Department and 5 students from Painting and Sculpture Department graduated today.
Win Tint, Principal, State High School of Arts (Yangon), said "We have started to prepare for graduation ceremony since December step by step and finished our artworks in February. This is our very firsttime holding graduation ceremony at National Theatre. I’m happy that the graduation ceremony is held successfully. I would like to encourage the students to try their best to become professionals. "
The graduated students from Painting and Sculpture Department displayed their artworks at the art gallery booth.The students have to make preparation for their artworks two months ahead to be readied for this grand ceremony.
Zin Mar Win, Assistant Director, State High School of Arts (Yangon), said " With the collaboration of our teachers and students, we managed to hold the graduation ceremony successfully although we had to make preparations in a short period. As our school teach the students Myanmar tradition and culture, we have to try different methods to make our students to be interested in their lessons. I would like to encourage the students to continue learning to improve their skills and preserve our tradition and culture."
Khine Phoo Pwint Aung, State High School of Arts (Yangon), Deputy Instructor, said " I take responsibility for third year graduation artworks. These graduation artworks are inspired by Bagan mural paintings. We started to prepare the artworks two months advance before the ceremony to display them at the graduation ceremony. Traditional paintings are also created as a group project and I’m satisfied with my students’ artworks."
The outstanding students were also awarded during the ceremony, in addition to the presenting of their graduation certificates.
Nay Myo Aung, Student, 2nd Prize Winner of Traditional Painting, said " I joined the school in 2019-2020 Academic Year. I’m happy that the graduation ceremony is concluded successfully. I faced some difficulties in learning paintings but I tried my best to be able to create better artworks. I’m very grateful to my teachers for all of their supports."
The graduated students also staged the variety performance during the ceremony.
