South Dagon Mall : Shopping facility opened at War Veteran Housing

The newly constructed South Dagon Mall located near Myanma Thakaung War Veteran Housing (Laydauntkan) in Yangon was opened on Saturday morning. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo attended the opening ceremony.

During the ceremony, General Ye Win Oo formally opened the mall by pressing the button and sprinkled scented water on the inscription. Following this, a documentary video clip featuring the South Dagon Mall was screened.

Next, clarifications were made on construction and opening of the mall. Then, a commemorative gift was presented to the Commander-in-Chief. Subsequently, a honorary certificate was presented to Thamadi Kaung Thar Co., Ltd in recognition of the company’s contribution to the construction of the mall.

After a documentary photo session, the Commander-in-Chief and officials toured the shops and facilities within the mall. Under the guidance of the head of state, South Dagon Mall was constructed, aiming to enhance the socio-economic status of the residents of war veteran housing and Dagon Myothit (South).

It’s a 3-storey reinforced concrete (RC) building featuring a wide range of businesses, including furniture shops, restaurants, stores, mini-marts, and banks. The mall also includes a cinema and escalators for convenient access between floors. In addition, a solar power generation system has been installed to help reduce electricity consumption and promote energy efficiency.
