Meeting with Families : C-in-C meets with Tatmadawmen in Thanlyin

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo met with military officers, Tatmadaw personnel, and their families from the Thanlyin and Dala Stations on Saturday. In his speech, the Commander-in-Chief highlighted the geographically strategic importance of Thanlyin and Dala as gateways from Yangon to the sea.

He stressed the need to protect Myanmar’s maritime territory with the full strength of the Tatmadaw (Navy), while combating illegal trade and drug trafficking. He emphasized the fine traditions of the Tatmadaw and urged all personnel to uphold these traditions while carrying out their duties in defence of the nation.

The General underscored the threats to maritime security, considering them a matter of national security, and called for the development of strategic plans to build a standard Navy capable of keeping pace with regional navies.

He also urged all personnel to conduct continuous training to maintain readiness for safeguarding national sovereignty and maritime territory, ensuring effective maritime security, providing disaster relief, and extending protection offshore in the national interest.
