Reconstruction Progress : Ongoing reconstruction of damaged staff housings

Together with departmental officials, Chairman of Buildings Restoration, Utilization, and New Buildings Construction Supervision Committee, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant inspected the ongoing reconstruction process of Mandalay earthquake damaged staff housings within Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Saturday.

At the briefing hall of Plot No. 8 (a), the Union Minister instructed on completion of ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe, prompt resettlement of staff families temporarily sheltered at modular houses, quality and earthquake resilience of the housings, cleanliness, and requisite infrastructure installation.

Then, reports were presented on further projects implementation and strict supervisions on projects in progress. Following this, the Union Minister and officials inspected the construction process and gave necessary instructions.

New staff housing units are currently being constructed to replace housings damaged by the Mandalay Earthquake. A total of 293 buildings comprising 4,668 rooms are being constructed at an accelerated pace. It’s learnt that the construction works are closely supervised to ensure timely completion, meeting quality standards.
