Smooth transportation access: Pammawady Bridge (Myinkaseik) opened

Hailing the 78th Anniversary Armed Forces Day, the 1,260-ft long Pammawady bridge (Myinkaseik) on Pathein-Kankone-Myinkaseik-MyaungMya road in Myaung Mya township of Ayeyawady region was held on Monday. At the ceremony, SAC member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung Sam said that as the Ayeyawady region is a delta region, it is the main region where rice is produced in Myanmar.

As there are many rivers and alluvial soil, agricultural tasks achieve. It is also a region where fishery industries and livestock industries exist. The Union Minister called on the locals to maintain long-term durability of the bridge. Later, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant said that the old suspension Pammawady Bridge (Myinkaseik) was taken down due to its weak strength and the experts built 1,260-ft long bridge with upper structure steel box girder reinforced concrete floor and the lower foundation were built with R.C.C Bored Pile.

The bridge withstands 60-ton of load. In 2022-2023 financial year, 12 bridges with 180-ft and above and 7 bridges under 180-ft, totaling 19 bridges are being constructed. After that, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win said that by opening the bridge, the locals can easily travel to Yangon region from Pathein through MyaungMya, Wakema, Bokalay and Pyanpon townships within a short period and the local products can be transported and can be exported to foreign countries.

It will support improving socio-economic life of the locals. After spoke words of thanks by a local, member of SAC Mahn Nyein Maung, the Union Minister for Construction, the Ayeyawady region chief Minister, the Commander of South-West Command and the Region Security and Border Affairs Minister formally opened the bridge.

Afterwards, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San and SAC member MahnNyeinMaung unveiled the stone inscription of the bridge and sprinkled with scented water and inspected through the bridge. Pammawadybridge (Myinkaseik) is built across Myinkaseik river on Pathein-Kankone-Myinkaseik-MyaungMya road in MyaungMya township of Ayeyawady region and it is 1,260-ft long and it is two-lane bridge and facilitated with 24-ft wide motor road.
