Students of a drawing institute in India's financial capital Mumbai drew portraits of King Charles III on Sunday to congratulate him for becoming the UK's new monarch.

The new king has visited India on various occasions in the past. India began observing one day of state mourning on Sunday as a mark of respect for the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. The national flag was lowered to half-staff on government buildings throughout the country, including Parliament, President House and the Red Fort in New Delhi. King Charles III was officially proclaimed Britain's monarch on Saturday.
