Sagaing Region Hluttaw Session: Hluttaw approved the appointment of Region CM

The fourth day of the First Regular Session of the Third Sagaing Region Hluttaw was held on April 6 at 10:00 AM at the Hluttaw building's meeting hall in Monywa.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Sagaing Region Hluttaw, declared that the meeting had reached a full quorum and officially commenced, recording the attendance status with the Hluttaw's approval.

Subsequently, the Hluttaw's approval was sought regarding the proposal sent by the President-elect to designate the 7 Sagaing Region Ministries, 7 Sagaing Region Ministers, 3 Judges for the Sagaing Region High Court.

The Speaker announced that the Hluttaw had agreed and approved the proposal.

Following this, the proposal sent by the President-elect for the appointment of the Sagaing Region Chief Minister was presented to the Hluttaw. It was announced that any member of Hluttaw wishing to discuss the proposal could submit their name, after which the meeting was temporarily adjourned.  

When the meeting resumed, it was announced that no Hluttaw representatives had submitted their names to discuss the President-elect's proposal to appoint U Ko Lay, the representative for Shwebo Township Constituency No. 2, as the Sagaing Region Chief Minister. Upon seeking the Hluttaw’s decision, the Speaker announced that the appointment was officially approved with the Hluttaw's consensus.

Afterward, the fourth day of the First Regular Session of the Third Sagaing Region Hluttaw was adjourned. It was announced that the fifth day of the meeting will be held on April 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
