S. Korean unions' anti-govt rally ahead of Liberation Day

Thousands of people gathered in central Seoul on Saturday to stage a protest calling on the South Korean government to suspend its hostile policy towards North Korea and China, including joint military exercises with the United States.
Protesters demanded the government suspend military cooperation between Seoul and Washington and push for a peace treaty and cooperation with Pyongyang.
The rally took place near the historic Namdaemun gate, about 2.5 kilometers from the presidential office.Participants marched toward the office after taking part in a protest.
