Roads and Bridges: MOC Union Minister inspects restoration efforts

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant accompanied by concerned officials inspected the temporary restoration of damaged roads and bridges, resilience of the roads and bridges, condition of the passing of cargo trucks and passenger vehicles as well as the arrangements to reconstruct the roads and bridges in full capacity.

First, the Union Minister and party visited the damaged No.5/16 PaungLaung Bridge on Mon Tae Khwin-Kyi TaungKan-Khaw Ma-Nyaung Pin Thar road and inspected the resilience of temporary bailey bridge, restoration of Box Culvert of the road and gave necessary instructions.

Another temporary bailey bridge was also constructed at the damaged site of the No.2/20 bridge to ensure uninterrupted public transportation. They then inspected the operation of two temporary bailey bridges at the damaged site of Sin Thay Creek Bridge (ThaikChaung) for the uninterrupted public transportation and arrangements to reconstruct the damaged pier of the bridge and coordinated requirements.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the uninterrupted public access on temporary bailey bridge at the damaged site of Sin Thay Creek Bridge (PopaKone) as well as the completion of restoration process and provided necessary instructions.

On arrival at temporary bailey bridge at the damaged site of Na Win Creek intersection Bridge, the Union Minister and party inspected the uninterrupted public access, resilience of the bridge, clearing of water route, arrangements for the reconstruction of the bridge and instructed to restrict the passing of cargo trucks.

The Ministry of Construction is making exerted efforts for the swift completion of restoration process within Nay Pyi Taw Council area to ensure uninterrupted public transportation and arrangements are also underway to reconstruct the damaged roads and bridges in full capacity.
