




The 20th day of the second regular session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw was held at 10:00 AM today, July 8, at the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw, with 347 out of the 351 eligible parliamentarians in attendance.
According to the agenda, the Hluttaw put on record the attendance of a Myanmar Hluttaw delegation led by the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw at the 2nd International Forum of the Union State “Great Heritage – Common Future,” held in Brest, Belarus from June 21 to 22, 2026, following invitations from the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus and the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia.
Subsequently, the question-and-answer period commenced. A total of 10 questions were raised, including a query by U Nyein Htwe of Insein Constituency on whether there is a plan to transfer the football ground constructed on Myanma Railways land in Insein Township if the Ministry of Sports applies for a free land transfer; a query by Dr. Nanda Hla Myint of Kalaw Constituency on whether a priority plan can be initiated to allow staff level civil servants to travel free of charge on domestic land, water, and air routes, whether for official duties or any other purpose, and if so, in which fiscal year it will be implemented; a query by U Maung Shwe of Loikaw Constituency on when and at what rates Myanmar National Airlines, which has suspended its round-trip flights between Loikaw and Yangon, will resume operations; and a query by Daw Khin Nini Aung of Kawkareik Constituency on whether there is a plan to re-dredge Hlaing Chaung Creek at the entrance of Kawkareik and Chaung Taung Chaung inside the town as soon as possible.
Deputy Ministers for Transport U Aung Myaing and U Tun Lu, and Deputy Ministers for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw and Dr. Ye Tun Win provided responses to the questions.
Next, Dr. Shwe Pyi Soe of Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Constituency tabled a motion, suggesting: "Regarding the tax system, it is necessary for various types of taxpayers to make payments accurately and easily. Taxes should be deducted and collected using a barcode-based digital (taxpayer) card named 'My Myanmar', and a modern automated deduction system should be utilized. Concerted efforts should also be made to ensure that government and private banking systems, currency circulation, cash flows, and deposit, withdrawal, and transfer systems are operated with utmost precision.".
