








Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Friday inspected major renovation to the Maha Pasana Cave on Kaba Aye Hill of Yangon Region and stressed systematic maintenance for long-term existence.
There, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and officials reported to the Senior General on a major renovation of the cave, upgrade of six buildings on Hanthathiri Hill of Kaba Aye, land preparations, landscaping works and road maintenance.
In his response, the Senior General said that necessary maintenance must be done in the monsoon; maintenance of buildings must lead to long term existence and convenience of venerable Sayadaws; after completion of renovation, roads must be upgraded; and, proper drainage system and improvement of road shoulders must be undertaken.
He also viewed round the major maintenance works in the cave and left the necessary instructions. Also, he paid homage to the Buddha image on the top floor of the cave.
The Senior General also inspected situation to upgrade the hostels and roads for the stay of venerable Sayadaws on Kaba Aye Hill and Hanthathiri Hill.
Maha Pasana Cave is located on Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region. Cornerstones were laid for the cave in 1953 and the construction was completed on the 10th of May 1954.
