









Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win together with the Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and region ministers inspected the condition of the embankment in Nyaungdone Township on 3rd August.
Next, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister heard reports on flooding condition and maintenance tasks carried out in San Kin Island and arrangements to construct retaining walls in Kokko Wa Village.
Then, the Union Minister, Chief Minister and party visited Sasana Beikman Relief Camp at East Ward of the Pantanaw Township and comforted the flood victims. They also donated cash assistance and foodstuff to the flood victims from 3 relief camps within the township.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and party met with the flood victims at Dhamma Sahara Myintsari Beikman in the precinct of Myat Shin Taw Pyi Lone Chan Thar Pagoda and provided cash assistance and foodstuff to the flood victims from 17 relief camps of Kyaung Kone Township.
After paying homage to the pagoda, the Union Minister and party paid respect to the Dekkhinarama Shwe Kyin Pariyatti Monastery Presiding Sayadaw and donated offertories.
On the same day, the Union Minister and party visited a relief camp in the precinct of Lawka Mhan Ku Pagoda in Kankyidaunt Township and donated cash assistance and foodstuff to the flood victims from 13 relief camps within the township.
Later, the Union Minister and party inspected the relief item storage of Region Staff Officer Office of the Disaster Management Department in Pathein Township.
At the relief camps, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister urged the flood victims to actively participate in environmental conservation activities to prevent potential natural disasters. They also clarified the evacuation measures and providing aids and elaborated the rehabilitation tasks to be carried out under the efficient guidance of National Disaster Management Committee.
The also asked the flood victims to be aware of the health risks after flood. During the visit, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement donated relief items worth over 60 million kyats to the flood victims.
