









The opening ceremony of the new six-story hospital building of Bago People’s Hospital, implemented as part of the Ministry of Health's 100-Day activities for the benefits of the people was held on the morning of July 13.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Bago Region Hluttawt Speaker U Aung Cho Oo, and other officials. They cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the building and sprinkled scented water on the commemorative plaque marking the occasion.
Afterward, they toured and inspected the installation of medical supplies and equipment on the ground floor, first floor, second floor, and third floor of the six-story hospital building, as well as the preparation of the wards, and provided necessary guidance and instructions.
The building was constructed on a land area of 25.03 acres using Government’s approved funds of 2.649 billion kyats, and includes two elevators. New X-ray machines, laboratory equipment, patient beds, and other hospital supplies have also been provided for use in this building.
Bago People’s Hospital currently provides healthcare services daily with 14 specialized departments, serving an average of approximately 350 inpatients and 550 outpatients per day. The newly opened six-story building will provide healthcare services including fever wards, cancer treatment wards, surgical wards, orthopedic wards, support departments, and modern operating theaters.
Afterward, the Union Minister and officials, visited the Phayagyi Town Hospital in Bago Township. They inspected the emergency department, laboratory, inpatient wards, and operating theaters. The Union Minister gave necessary instructions and made arrangements to address the issues raised in the reports submitted, it’s reported.
