Three RBE coaches transported from Yangon to run Sittwe-Yay Chan Pyin route arrived in Sittwe on 19th May. Sittwe-Yay Chan Pyin route was running with the single coach train. Now, the four-coach train was started to run from Pyi Taw Thar station to Yay Chan Pyin station as of 23rd May.

The Myanmar Railways (MR) increases the coaches for the convenient of the students from Sittwe University and Technological University (Sittwe) and the residents as the bus fares are expensive.

Hla Thein, State Advocate-General, Rakhine State Government said "Previously, Sittwe-Yay Chan Pyin route was suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the route has been reopened after repairing some parts of the route since 24th March and the daily commuters are estimated at about 700. We are planning to add more schedules depending on the increasing number of the commuters as the universities are reopened."

Train fares will charge from 50 kyats to 150 kyats depend on the distance and the plans are underway to add more running schedules for Pyi Taw Thar- Yay Chan Pyin route.
