







The Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Commander of the South-East Command and members of Mon State government visited Athawkaryama Pariyatti Monastery in Mudon Township of Mon State on 19th of July and paid homage to the presiding Sayadaw of Monastery and donated offertories.
Then, Chief Minister and the Commander presented certificate of honour to the presiding Sayadaw for his donation of 35 items of jewelleries which were donated to the State through the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
The Chief Minister and party then met with flood victims who are currently taking shelter at the Aung Thikdi Monastery in Mudon. At the meeting, the Chief Minister said that assistance will be provided flood affected people as much as possible and preparatory measures for natural disaster will be made by cooperation with related organizations to prevent loss and damages.
After that, the Chief Minister and party provided rice, edible oil, eggs, instant noodle and cash assistance to 184 flood victims in Aung Theikdi monastery Rescue Camp. He then inspected the flooding areas in Myoma 4 ward in Mudon Township and instructed the needs on systematic drainage system and throwing garbage.
And the Chief Minister met 43 flood-effected people who are accommodating at the Basic Post Primary School (MudonOo) in Baeyang Village and provided rice, edible oil, eggs, instant noodle and cash assistance. At the temporary rescue camp in ZayKyoe Ward of Mawlamyaing, the Chief Minister and party donated foodstuff to 238 flood-effected people.
On the same day, they inspected flood-affected areas in ThiriMingalar ward of Mawlamyaing Township and instructed the needs on implementation of better drainage system in cooperation with locals and administrative bodies.
And he stressed that it is needed to make preventive measures for diarrhea and dysentery by cooperating with related health organizations and the Chief Minister and party provided foodstuffs to flood-effected people in MingalarThiri ward and they made inspection to flood-affected areas in Mawlamyaing Township.
