Presidential Electoral College: 2nd Day meeting of Pyithu Hluttaw PEC held

The second day meeting of the group of elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives participating in the Third Pyithu Hluttaw Presidential Electoral College was held on March 31st, at 10:00 AM in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Out of the 263 Hluttaw representatives eligible to attend, 260 were present. 

According to the agenda, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw announced the list of vice-presidential candidates. As there were two nominees, a secret ballot was conducted using voting papers to make the selection.

Afterwards, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw announced that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, having received the highest number of supporting votes, had been elected as Vice President.

Subsequently, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw announced that the name of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Vice President elected by the group of elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, would be submitted to the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. The meeting was adjourned at 11:33 AM, it’s reported.
